its catch 22. It’s acknowledged that world over population is a greater threat in the short term than global warming and the environment. I believe in Gaia theory and the earth eventually sorting its self out after we have screwed it all up and hopefully gone from the face of the planet! Of course it would be nice if it didn’t happen as everyone knows it doesn’t need to happen. Who’s gonna stick there head on the block?
Who indeed?
Agreed Carl but how can we stop it ? I read an article on plastic bags in the ocean an Island the size of Wales that a man can walk on fish full of pin head sized plastic particles. Some times I silently despair but don’t know how I can help to make the changes we all need to
Despite it being our (the human) downfall John we won’t stop it! The current political status means the unpopular methods needed to control what we do to the environment would never be voted in! It would mean such a life change for all of us we would never accept the changes. We seem to defend our position at the top of the food chain until there will be nothing left below us. Whatever we can do we will eventually be done but I have the feeling it will be too little too late. It will, as I’ve said often before, be left to mother nature to solve – she will at some point press the reset button.
Quitting putting chemicals and insecticides on the land would be a small but important start.
