Playing Chicken

.

As we were travelling south into Suffolk the other week I noticed something move at the very edge of the road. I pulled over a little ways past and walked back. It was a Squab; a young pigeon. Having obviously fallen from a nest above the road it was now ‘playing chicken’ with articulated Lorries. He wasn’t going to win. I gently lifted him well into the verge where his folks could find him and took his picture for posterity! – Looking like something from a Star Wars sequel to be fair he’s not the prettiest creature I’ve ever come across but I guess his mother loves him.
