A few good birds

Lots of tours at the moment. Busy, busy, busy. A few good birds have cropped up en passant.

Nuthatch

Almost 27 years ago, on the 13th October 1989, Holkham Pines here in Norfolk held a visitor to Great Britain that had never been seen here before and has not been seen here since. A Red breasted Nuthatch roamed the pines for many months. I remember seeing it several times during it’s stay. However it was never as obliging as this individual I photographed in Canada in August. I know quite a few people that would like to see another one over here soon and given the numbers occurring on the eastern seaboard of the USA this autumn the time might be right … or is that wishful thinking?
