Sugar-rush

Feeding your garden birds is a given in whatever country you live. Right? The lodges in Ecuador are no exception. In this part of the world the hummingbirds almost replace the function of insects. They feed them here on sugared water. This Gorgeted Woodstar was more than obliging as it waited its turn at the feeder. The male Green-crowned Woodnymph however was a little more laidback as he hung out in the bushes; despite him looking pretty cool in his metallic garb.
