Heart Leap

A few days ago we came back from the very successful tour to Wales. The 2015 tour is now open for bookings. Wood Warblers, Redstarts, Pied and Spotted Flycatchers, Chough, Peregrine and of course Red Kites were all part of the cast but it was perhaps the Bottlenose Dolphins that were the biggest stars. As we stood looking out to sea a pod performed offshore leaping and somersaulting their way into everyone’s hearts.

Scottish Tour 2015

.

Arrived back last night from the Scottish Birders long weekend. Excellent tally of 103 species including PTARMIGAN, CAPERCAILLE, BLACK & RED GROUSE, BLACK & RED THROATED DIVERS, SLAVONIAN GREBES, CRESTED TITS, SCOTTISH CROSSBILLS …. and so much more, despite some intimidating weather. If you are interested in the tour in 2015 register your interest by sending me a mail and I’ll send you details when they become available.

A real catch

Dippers have featured quite often in Letter from Norfolk posts over the last few months. However, I couldn’t resist including another shot taken on the Scottish Short Week Tour earlier this month.
This individual posed patiently as it collected insect after insect before returning to feed its young in the nest tucked away under a small bridge.
Marvellous how it managed to catch the next without losing the ones already collected.
