Winter Visitors

There are a few Shorelark wintering along the Norfolk coast this year. Some in a variable numbered flock others as scattered individuals.

Nightjar

In the throws of last Autumn I came across this little beauty. No doubt on migration back to the dark continent. Nightjars are so enigmatic as well as probably having the most cryptic camouflage of any bird.

Snipe

I do love Snipe. They are such unassuming little creatures; beautifully pattered. How on earth can people shoot them? Unfortunately being a quarry species they do, so no wonder they are so cryptically plumaged. This one however was a little more brazen; out in the open and not caring, but still alert.
