Feeding your garden birds often attracts other little visitors; like this Bank Vole.

It’s not often photography of small mammals is put on a plate. They are usually well hidden, quick and difficult to get near. So many photographers and film makers use staged settings with captive animals.
We came across not one but two quite tame Bank Voles the other day. They were openly feeding on the path. A real opportunity to observe them doing volie type things in their natural environment.

A little seed for the birds often attracts others to feed. On a carpet of sunflower seeds we saw a little interloper that came to look around. Not in a cool relaxed way but a nervous twitchy way. Bank Voles are not that high up the food chain, they need to be wary. This individual showed for less than a second each time it appeared.
