Deep in among the pines. Hardly noticeable on the short mossy turf were a host of small orchids. Creeping Ladies Tresses are not showy bright flowers; they are just two or three inches tall, nor are they common. These are yet another orchid that hug the ground with modesty. Perhaps the best showing on the coast for many years we found 130+ spikes.
