Pure Beauty

The main reason for our trip to California earlier this month was to see Grey Whales and Bobcat. Birds however played no small part. Over the next month or so I will endeavour to share, from time to time, a little of the experience of being on the Western seaboard of North America.

California is a wonderful place with some amazing wildlife; some large, some small. Small like this Anna’s Hummingbird. No bigger than a butterfly this beautiful male buzzed around us flashing his face shield of metallic feathers catching the evening sunshine in a display of pure beauty.

Hi Carl, I have been to stay with friends in California 3 times. They are in Orange County. The first time we went we saw Bob Cats on the mountainside behind their house and a number of species of hummingbird in the garden that they fed with nectar dispensers. We also saw the whales off Dana Point, huge sea lions at San Fransisco pier as well. Sea Otters at Carmel and San Fransisco as well .Of course we also saw the swallows at mission san juan Capistrano! We weren’t even on a nature holiday either. It is an excellent place for all nature we were due to go again in summer but alas a new roof has put paid to that I am afraid! Maybe a trip out with you at Easter if you are around would go some way to compensating perhaps? Let me know if you are available or on a trip again somewhere warm dry and sunny? Thanks and all the best Carl. JohnDate: Tue, 25 Mar 2014 19:01:48 +0000 To: highimpacttraining@hotmail.com
