Those of you that live in the UK, are of a certain age and in the ‘know’ will understand the above title.
Fish aren’t often the subject of a posting on Letter from Norfolk. A beast we saw the other day however demanded a slot. An Otter length Pike was being fished from the river by its captor. Taken away into a dark place to eat in private this was no doubt a hearty meal.
As usual click to enlarge.
Well, I expect that the Pike had the last shock of is it’s life when the Otter grabbed it. I suspect there was a slight disconnect on the part of the Pike – not appreciating the danger it was in.
Oddly Stephen it seemed to accept its fate and didn’t struggle.
Like a lamb to slaughter.
Weird how we creatures seem to accept our fate sometimes.
Absolutely – See http://wildcatchphotography.zenfolio.com/p912769488/h3c37033#h3c37033 as another example.
Just a ‘simple’ stab to the chest would have sorted things. I remember watching something on the box about the SAS – it’s a trait that works in their favour in certain circumstances.
A sort of Starling Air Service sort of thing then Stephen
🙂
Excellent photo – as usual but even better! I really enjoy your postings Anne M – Bob C is a friend of ours
Thanks Anne. Very much appreciate the comment and I hope you enjoy the postings on Letter from Norfolk. You are lucky to have Bob C as a friend … smashing chap who was with me on one occasion recently when I was photographing the otters. I took some people again today to see the Otters and they showed splendidly.
